Olympiad in your classroom

Our primary goal is to foster students’ enthusiasm for economics and to connect like-minded people. We need your help! As a teacher you can help us by motivating, informing and coaching your students. 

Registration

The next Economics Olympiad will start in March 2024. Your students can participate in the first round from 18.03 - 01.04.2024. If you wish to participate with your class next year, register your interest here and we will get in touch with you in due time.

FAQ

Why should I sign up my students to participate?

Because you make a valuable contribution.

  • You can challenge gifted students – with little extra effort on your part.

  • You may lay the foundation for a student’s university studies or a career in economics – this is quite common.

  • You open new doors. Students might discover hidden talents or interests.

  • You will get information on the level of your students – in comparison with students from Switzerland and around the world.

  • You can be proud of the accomplishments of your students, proud of your school’s commitment – and proud of your own contribution.

What's my task?

  • You are responsible for motivating the students to participate.

  • You initiate the first exam. That is very simple – students can participate in class or as homework. The exam takes 45 minutes and can be solved online.

Which level is required to participate in the economics olympiad?

The Olympiad is open to everyone who enjoys economics. 

How can I prepare my students for the competition?

No preparation is necessary for the Online Exam.

How do I sign up?

  1. You can register your class online. Registration opens on 18 March 2024. You can register your interest and we will get in touch with you in due time.

  2. Your students register themselves and solve the exam online.

What are the requirements for participants?

  • Students must either be enrolled at a Swiss or Liechtenstein school, have their principal residence in Switzerland or be Swiss citizens.

  • Students must not be enrolled at university or a university of applied sciences.

  • The students must be younger than 20 years old as of July 30, 2024.

How much does it cost to participate?

It's free. 

Are there other Science Olympiads?

Yes, there are nine more Science Olympiads in the following subjects: biology, chemistry, geography, informatics, linguisticsmathematics, philosophy, physics and robotics.
